She was born April 27, 1924 in Central Falls, Rhode Island to Eva (DuBuque) and Louis Gervais and was the youngest of four children.
Cllaire was raised in the catholic faith which she practiced all her life. Claire served God and her country in World War II. Claire was a member of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corp (WAAC). She served her country as a medic at the age of 20 in the United States Army where she was honorably discharged at the end of World War II.
Claire is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Jim) Boese, Donna (Louis) Sears; six grandchildren, Brenda, Dawn, Jamie (Alison), Matthew (Allison); Doreen and James Jr.; twelve great-grandchildren, Stephen, Michael Jr., Justin, Brandon, Zachary, Trischanna, Brittany, Cameron, Deviny, Jared, Hailey Mary, and Lacie Rose; and six great-great grandchildren, Cassidy, Sophia, Justin Jr., Jace, Charlee and Carter.
Claire’s zest for life and love for her family will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Claire was a waitress at the family-owned restaurant where each person Claire met quickly fell in love with her charismatic and fun personality. May the wonderful memories that she made remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21st at 11:00am at St Jerome’s Catholic Church located at 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL with light refreshments to follow in the Parrish Center. The internment service with veteran honors will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery located at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St Petersburg, FL at 2:30pm. A celebration of life will be held in her honor following funeral services at Time Out Sports Bar, 9009 Oakhurst Rd, Seminole, FL.
The Boese and Sears family would like to extend their gratitude to all the friends and families who participated in the loving care of their beloved mother and grandmother during her last years of life.
