We are forever in awe of her selflessness and desire to live her life her way. She was always adamant to live independently and even overcame several health setbacks to do so. Her determination to live life to the fullest, to always be learning and a jest to experience culture in other countries is inspirational to us all.
She had a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and her specialty was in silversmithing, but her skills were never limited to that, she also advanced to a high level of expertise in watercolor painting. She was always involved in the arts in some form, an avid volunteer at playhouses, concert halls, and the Dali Museum in St Petersburg, Florida. She also worked in the local schools as an assistant teacher. She lived in the Tampa Florida area for over 30 years with her husband and our father, John. After his passing 5 years ago, she moved to Maryland to be closer to her family and friends.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her. She loved an evening with friends and a glass of wine in hand or even better a table full of steamed crabs! She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality and sense of humor was contagious to everyone she met.
Christiana is survived by her daughter, Sandra; a son, Stephen; and her grandchildren: Taylor, Peyton, Harry, Amanda and Rachel.
We will be having a celebration of her life soon and will announce a date and place for it, thank you.
