

Carmen Maria Serrano, age 79, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Carmen lived a vibrant life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family.
On July 28, 1970, she married the love of her life, Edward Serrano, and together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and deep devotion. Carmen had an undeniable zest for life — she found joy in fishing, sewing, trying her luck and winning at the casinos, and most of all, cooking unforgettable meals for those she loved.
Carmen is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Serrano; her children, Ovidio Chaparro and his wife Missy, Luis Chaparro and his wife Loida, Sonia Chaparro, Edward R. Serrano and his wife Sylvia, and Steven Serrano along with his fiancée Nicole. She was a proud grandmother to Elise Leppard, Erica Leppard, Sofia Chaparro, & Faith Gonzalez, and a great-grandmother to Penelope Rose.
Carmen also leaves behind her dear siblings, Cessie Nieves, Lourdes Beauvais, and Raymond Nieves.
Her warmth, strength, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A service to honor Carmen’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 12:45 PM sharp, at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513.
There will also be a small reception following the cemetery service, at 2:30pm at the
Avalon Community Clubhouse, where the Serrano Family resides.
