Bernadette Josephine Nolan

Bernadette “Bernie” was the second child and only daughter born to Bernard F. and Josephine D. Nolan (nee Jankowski). She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bernard and Richard. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Colleen) Nolan, her cousins, Catherine Key and Joey Schmiel, and numerous nieces and nephews, Matt, Jeanne, Lynne, Mike, Martin, Alison, Dan and Caleb.

Over the past 25 years, Bernadette invested in her community by serving as her condominium association president, singing in the choir at Pinellas Park Wesleyan, serving others through bible study, women’s groups and in the role church treasurer. Her friends have been a lifeline of support during recent medical challenge.

Prior to moving to Florida to be the primary caregiver for her aging mother, Bernadette had a successful career in the real estate industry, serving as the CEO of the American Industrial Real Estate Association in Los Angeles, CA . Prior to a move west, she was employed with the Chicago Real Estate Board. Upon retirement from the real estate industry, she worked for Glendale School District for seven years in the college and career planning center.

Bernadette was a member of the American Business Women’s Assn since March of 1968, having served as VP, Treasurer and President. Bernadette was recognized nationally as the ABWA Woman of the Year in 1972. Throughout the years, she has volunteered in numerous charitable organizations such as the U.S.O, asst. Ponytail softball coach, and her local neighborhood watch.

Always along the journey of her life, she joyfully shared the news of salvation through Christ in daily conversations and singing in the choir. Friends that she met through her various church homes became like family and she enjoyed every conversation, letter, phone call, and photo shared.

In lieu of flowers, Bernadette has asked that donations be made to Feed the Children and Kid’s World.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Park Place Church on September 15th at 6 pm. (to be confirmed)
