Ronald Phillip Griess

Ronald Phillip Griess was born on January 31, 1937, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Hugo and Mollie (Lissman) Griess and passed away at his home on November 10, 2023, at the age of 86 with his wife by his side.

On August 6, 1960, Ron received the sacrament of marriage with Marjorie Windeshausen at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Together, they shared a deep and enduring love that lasted for 63 years. Their union brought forth five children: Angela, Lisa, Randy, Robin, and Ronda.

Ron was a lover of the outdoors and especially liked to hunt and fish, a hobby that he loved to share with his children and grandchildren. He taught all his grandchildren how to fish. He also was a carpenter by trade, always thinking of something that he could build.

He is survived by his wife; Marge; children: Angela (Doug) Duba, Lisa Graham, Randy (Heidi) Griess, Robin (Dave) Edwards, and Ronda Griess(Doug Daehling); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Cassondra & Dan Goff and children Emma, Cayden, & Grant; Mollie & Greg Robertson and children Knox, Rhett, Clara, & Grace; Tessa Duba and son Joe Douglas; Christopher Duba and children Myla and Bennett; Nikolaus Graham & Bekah Pike and children Alora, Ember Graham, and Nicole Bopp; Abreah & Kelly Kinsey and children Cambrie and Charlie; K. Michael Graham; David Graham; Michael & Caitlyn Graham and children Lily, Arabella, and Haddon; Adam and Ariadne Graham; Katrina & Brandon Adams and son Asher; Zach Griess; Bailey Griess; Josh Ely; Jeremy Ely and children Zoey, Elijah, and River; Jourdain & Wes Thurman and children Bryant, Brock, and Ayva; Devin & Creon Seastrunk and son Klyer; Jaci & Makiah Slade and children Layken and Riley; Drewann Edwards.

Preceded in death by his parents; Hugo and Mollie, In-laws; Nick and Kate Windeshausen; Grandson Joseph Duba; and Brothers and Sisters

Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 9:00 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 1420 K St, Lincoln, NE 68508

Memorials are in the care of the family for future designation.
