Paul C West

He was born in St. Charles, IL in 1960. In 1987, Paul married Tammy in Denver, Colorado.

Paul served in the Air Force for 22 years. He reported for basic training in June 1981 and retired in September 2003 with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his career, he held technician and supervisory positions in Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL). In addition to his stateside postings, he spent 2 years in England, a deployment to Saudi Arabia in support of operation Desert Calm, and a short tour in South Korea. After his retirement, he worked for the VA Medical Center in Omaha for 17 years.

Paul completed his associates degree in Electronic Systems Technology through the Community College of the Air Force in 1997. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Bellevue University in 2006 and obtained his master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Bellevue University in 2016.

Paul was a devoted Christian and enjoyed serving in various roles at the churches he and Tammy attended over the years, including as a member of the worship team (singing and sound board), teaching adult Sunday school, and as a member of the elder board at Hope EFC. He loved to share his faith and encourage others.

At home, Paul loved to read, work with computers, and spend time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile ready for friends and family. He deeply loved Tammy and his daughters. He enjoyed teaching and helping his daughters and was always ready to lend an ear or provide advice. Paul will be greatly missed by friends, family, and coworkers.

He is survived by his wife Tammy of 34 years; daughters Emily, Leah, and Rachel; brothers Tim (Becky) and Mark (Holly). He is also survived by his nephews and niece.

He was preceded in death by father Eugene West, Jr. and mother Lucy Eleanor West.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on July 10, 2021 at Brookside Church, 3434 N 204th St, Elkhorn, NE. The family encourages attendees to wear plaid to celebrate Paul’s life.
