John Barcott Newman-age 80, born in Tacoma Washington and passed away on August 7, 2023 in Concord California. Trained as a Dental Hygienist in the Air Force, John's years of work before retirement was as Lab Assistant lll in Restorative Dentistry at UCSF.
He received the Chancellor's Award for Exceptional University Service and was dedicated to enhancing the dental students' learning experience while there. He was a kind and gentle man. Outside of work he loved jazz and watching sports, and lived to read.
John wanted his epitaph to say: 'He did no harm'. He will be sorely missed by many.
