Clyde lived a full and adventurous life. He grew up in San Francisco, served his country as an Air Force pilot, and an Attorney with Haimes, Johnson, MacGowan and McInerney. He found great joy on the water as a lifelong recreational sailor. He appreciated the finer things in life—an excellent meal, a good cigar, and a proper gin. For 47 wonderful years he called Ballena Bay in Alameda his waterfront home before moving into assisted living three years ago.
These past few months were especially difficult for him, and while losing him leaves an enormous hole in their hearts, they’re grateful that he is finally at peace. He never wanted to live the way he had been required to in recent months, so we take comfort in knowing he is free again.
Daughter Jenifer Lyn MacGowan Erickson and son Scott James MacGowan will miss him more than words can say. They find peace imagining him soaring once again, reunited with his mother and his brothers, Jack and Gene.
Fair winds and blue skies, Clyde Lester MacGowan, Jr. .
