Christopher “Chris” Coscia passed away peacefully at his home in Alameda, California, on September 16, 2025, after a long, brave battle with cancer. His early years were spent in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, before he moved west to California as a young adult. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and built a career in the computer field, including running his own businesses for many years.
Born in Norristown, PA on September 30, 1962, Chris was predeceased by his father Alfred J. Coscia, and is survived by his loving family: his mother S. Constance “Connie” (Pilecki) Coscia, his sister Sophia “Fia”(Coscia) Caligiuri and her husband, Charles "Charlie" - all of Princeton Junction, NJ; his son Maks Lee Coscia of Roseville, CA; and many aunts and uncles and cousins and friends. Of special note are his California friends C.J. Yother and Bob Michetti, who supported Chris tirelessly during his illness. They were like brothers to him, and his family is forever grateful for their unwavering care and friendship.
Chris cherished spending time with his son Maks and had a deep passion for all things mechanical - especially rebuilding vintage cars, where he could often be found immersed for hours. He also loved cross-country adventures, meticulously mapping and planning those routes to travel by car and motorcycle, many of which he enjoyed throughout his 62 years. Chris is now on his final cross-country journey, traveling from the West Coast to the East, to be laid to rest with family here.
We miss him dearly and ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in remembrance of Christopher to Kaiser Oakland Home Health and Hospice, 4501 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94611 Attn: Hospice.
A burial will be held at a later date.
