Bruce Alphee LeBlanc

Bruce Alphee LeBlanc was born April 29, 1949, in Roslyn Park, Long Island, New York, the son of Alphee Francis and Edith Marie (Foetsch) LeBlanc. He grew up in New York, Ft. Worth, Texas, and northern Virginia as his family moved for his father’s job. He graduated high school in 1967 at Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, and he got a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma) in 1971.

He worked for Kerr McGee Corporation in Oklahoma City for a number of years until the oil bust layoffs. Then he moved to Marin County, California and took a job with the Archdiocese before later joining the IRS. Health issues brought him back to Oklahoma City for 4 years, but California was always calling him. He returned and worked as an Accountemp until he could rejoin the IRS, where he worked until retirement, spending his last 20 years in Oakland.

He played slow pitch softball in OKC with the Kerr McGee Reds. He was married twice but had no children. He had an extensive music album collection as a young man, and later it was CDs. He had organized play lists long before that was a thing. He loved to get in the car and go driving around California to sight see and take photographs.

Bruce died in Oakland, California June 28, 2026 from complications of cancer. He is survived by sister Lauren (John) Kloiber of Yukon, OK, sister Diane (Jim) Delbridge of Mustang, OK, brother David (Alisa) LeBlanc of North Carolina, and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces.

The family would like to thank his extensive health care team in San Francisco and Oakland. There will be no services. After cremation his ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean.
