Wayne Lewis Maddox, age 70, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. He was born in Oakdale, LA, on August 18, 1956, to Ruth Davis. He grew up doing all the usual boy things, but always carried a gentle heart and spirit.
Wayne graduated from Oakdale High School in 1974 and went right into the workforce. Throughout his life, he worked as a police officer, a bus driver, a delivery man, a mechanic, a warehouse supervisor, and a security guard. These jobs provided the safety, security, and necessities Wayne and his family needed while showing everyone around him what hard work and dedication truly looked like.
When he was not working, Wayne enjoyed collecting baseball cards, coaching boxing, and watching wrestling and classic westerns. As a dedicated Christian he served faithfully at All Saints Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX. He volunteered for many church activities, including traveling for mission trips, yearly Trunk or Treat event and Cowtown Brushup.
Wayne took great pride in his family, always happily introducing his wife and his girls to everyone he met. He possessed a gentle but firm nature with his children that extended beautifully to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though his presence is gone the deep love he had for his family and his community will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Davis; his brothers Romeo Hargrove, Ronnie Davis, and Lonnie Davis; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Pete and Lois Becker; and his sister-in-law, Gail Becker.
He is survived by his loving wife Kay Becker-Maddox; his children Adria Renae Maddox, Ashley Maddox, Jayda Maddox, Jesslyn Anderson, Katy (Robert) Mendez, Benjamin (Jessica) Grajeda, and David (Robin) Grajeda; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Wayne will be forever missed. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
