Thomas Scott Randolph, age 71 years, went to be with his Lord Thursday, June 8, 2017, at his home in Bedford, Texas. He was born July 30, 1945, in Salem, Illinois, to Robert Elisha and Alga Mae Stewart Randolph. As he approached his teens, his family relocated to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he graduated from high school. He entered the United States Army in December, 1965, and served one full year in Viet Nam, with an honorable discharge, effective December, 1971. Upon his return to the states, he married Marsha Ann Clark on August 10, 1968, with whom he had communicated by mail during his service in Viet Nam. They resided in Indianapolis, Indiana, where their first son was born, then moved to Hope, Arkansas, where another son and one daughter were born. He managed the local airport, prior to their move to Texarkana, where he worked primarily in sales, eventually managing a local farmer's co-op in Camden, Arkansas. In 1985, they relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, and he began work in building construction. He acquired his Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician certificate and worked in that field for many years, as well as some security work.
Thomas was always a faithful member of the Church of Christ and worshipped with the Heritage Church of Christ near Keller, Texas, for many years. His entire family has always had a passion for singing God's praises and he served as song leader much of his life. He loved working alongside his wife in the children's ministry and served in many benevolent projects. He developed a strong interest in creating miniature village scenes for holidays and often displayed them for others to enjoy. He loved to cook and create recipes, often baking breads and desserts for family and friends. His hobbies included playing games, especially 42, reading Louis L'Amour novels and watching good movies, especially John Wayne westerns. In recent years, he had acquired quite a collection of western and wildlife art.
Thomas had suffered and finally succumbed to the residual effects of his exposure to agent orange during his military service for many years. Upon his release from the hospital only hours before his passing, he stated that he just wanted to go home, so that he could go HOME and be with God.
