Thelma Marie Lane

Thelma Marie Lane, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 in Grapevine, Texas. Born in 1929 in Georgetown, Illinois, Thelma led a life marked by dedication, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.

A high school graduate, Thelma had a passion for reading and enjoyed immersing herself in watching DVDs of old Westerns and mysteries such as Sherlock Holmes and Peroit. Her professional journey was diverse; she was a skilled cook and took on roles in caregiving and security work. Regardless of how many times she moved, Thelma had a unique talent for transforming each house into a warm and welcoming home, as if she had lived there for years.

Thelma’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her four children: Gregory Robinson, Cherie Forniss, Shaughnessy Simms, and Unjaleek Jackson. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren: Clinenne’,Shaughnessy Jr.,Naomi,Jamar,Vanessa, and Jarrett; as well as nine great-grandchildren: Shaughnessy 3rd, Ja’Viere, Lariah, Kashden, Mason, Sevyn, Cheynell, Ty, Mya.

Thelma’s fierce love and willingness to make any sacrifice for her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, Thelma’s ashes will be scattered in the ocean off the coast of Hawaii.
