Susan D. Austin, age 76, of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, one day shy of her 77th birthday. Born on February 29, 1948, Susan was the beloved wife of the late Greg Austin and the cherished daughter of the late Eugene and Patricia Leno.
Susan’s love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her brother Larry Leno (wife Laura), her three sons, Robert Austin (wife Traci), Richard Austin, and Rodney Austin. She also leaves behind eight adoring grandchildren: Courtney Austin, Morgan Austin Simmons, Savannah Austin Oster, Chelsea Austin, Gage Austin, Slade Austin, Alexandria Austin, and Haley Austin, as well as three great-grandchildren: Riley, Emery, Amber, and Huxton.
Susan found joy in every moment spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She had an infectious spirit and a zest for life that touched everyone she met. Susan loved spending time with friends, often winning at Bingo and enjoying her passion for Pokeno.
An avid Elvis Presley fan, Susan’s love for music was matched only by her vibrant personality. Her favorite color was purple, and anyone who knew her would agree it suited her well. A fun-loving, smart, and witty woman, she could light up any room, whether dancing, partying, or making new friends.
Susan had a special place in her heart for her two dogs, Maggie and Leroy, who brought her great joy. Professionally, she was highly accomplished in the insurance industry, where she held executive positions at two different companies, earning the respect of her colleagues.
Susan’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her passion for life, her laughter, and her ability to make every moment special will never be forgotten.
