Steven F. Harris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 68.
Steve was born on December 11, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Travis and Shirley Harris. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1976 and went on to build a successful career with Medline Industries, where he dedicated 30 years of service before retiring in 2014.
A man full of life, Steve found joy in golfing, traveling, and—most of all—spending time with his family. He especially treasured his role as “Poppy” to his five grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Steve had a deep passion for serving others. He generously volunteered countless hours with the North Texas Food Bank, Meals on Wheels of Dallas, and The Stewpot of Dallas, quietly making a difference in the lives of many.
Known for his warm personality, quick humor, and big heart, Steve loved gathering friends and family together. He had a rare gift for bringing people close, and his laughter and kindness will be deeply missed. His family and friends will forever cherish the years, lessons, love, and memories he shared so freely.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Harris of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Paul Harris, and wife Marsha Harris of Charlotte, North Carolina; his sister, Liz Marr, and husband Ray Marr of Dallas, Texas; his son, Ben Harris, and wife Laura Harris of Dallas, Texas; his daughter, Adrienne Hargrave, and husband Jared Hargrave of Dallas, Texas; his nephew Drew Harris and wife Laura of Charlotte, North Carolina; his niece Katy Davies and husband Brad of Dallas, Texas; his nephew Lucas Marr and wife Annie of Maryland; and his five cherished grandchildren: Jack Harris, Emmy Harris, Miller Hargrave, Graham Hargrave, and Ford Hargrave. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve’s honor to any of the organizations he proudly supported: the North Texas Food Bank, The Stewpot of Dallas, or Meals on Wheels of Dallas.
