ARLINGTON – Sophie Mary Jasinski passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 6, 2017, in Arlington. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Interment will be Thursday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Susan G. Komen. Sophie was born May 11, 1951 in San Francisco, California to Antoni and Joanna Jasinski. She was one of seven siblings and was a very loving sister. Sophie worked for the Federal Government as a Financial Management Specialist for 34 years. She was married to her best friend, Jimmy, for 26 years. They traveled all over the world and had amazing adventures which they loved to share with stories and pictures. As Jimmy’s health suffered, Sophie became his caretaker and champion each day. Sophie was a loving wife, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Halina, brothers-in-law Harry Gobert and John Weems, and her niece Helene SURVIVORS: Husband, Jimmy C. Smith; siblings George Jasinski, Wanda Scanlan (Lyle), Mary Funk, Henry Jasinski (Diane), and Ed Jasinski; step-daughter Lisa Gossard (Craig); sister-in-law Virginia Weems; grandson Drew Olvey; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
