Sheila Jean (Cunningham) Penney 66 of Azle Texas passed away unexpectedly 18 March 2017 after complications from surgery.
Sheila is at peace now and in the hands of our Lord.
She was born in Paris Texas 16 May 1950 to R.H and Loredo Cunningham and raised in Arlington, Texas.
She was the oldest and only girl of 3 other siblings.
A 1968 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington. She was participated in school activities and was usually first chair Soprano in the HS Choir. She was a dancer and dance instructor at the Mary Gordon school of dance in Arlington for many years. She was also a Toe Dancer for 19 years from 1961 to 1980 under Dan Elder Fort Worth Ballet Company and performed at numerous events and at Six Flags Over Texas.
Sheila met her husband while working at LTV in Grand Prairie Texas and after dating for 3 weeks they were engaged, 3 months later they were married on 24 January 1970 in Arlington Texas.
47 years of blissful marriage took them on many great adventures and travel. Sheila and her husband were fortunate to live and work in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado two different times and in Europe. While living in Waterloo Belgium they were blessed with a wonderful son on 6 October 1981.
She loved to ride with her husband on their Goldwing Motorcycle Trike and take trips with the Goldwing Riders Association Chapter M Moonlighters that they were chapter members. She was previous chapter Historian and loved researching past members, activities and adventures.
Sheila had been in pain for a number of years due to various medical issues, but the last year had been the most challenging and debilitating. She was always upbeat, never complained and made the best of her situation. She was a bubbly cheerful outgoing person who never met a stranger and always ready to help. Her sense of humor and boisterous laughter brought smiles to everyone she was around. She loved life and lived it to the best of her ability. She was a joy to be around and with.
She was a devout Christian and active in the Arlington Methodist church she grew up in. 27 April 2014 she rededicated her life to Christ and was Re-Baptized at the Fellowship Baptist Church Weatherford Texas.
Her biggest Pride and Joy in life was her Grandson, Son and Daughter in law. She was the proudest Mom, Mother in Law and Grandmother one could imagine.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Raymond Dayle Penney of Azle, Texas

She will be interned at the Wilkinson / Penney family plot, Evergreen Cemetery Ranger Texas where she will be joined by her husband when he passes.
