Sharon Marr, beloved wife and mother, passed away at home, January 9, 2018. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 11:00 a.m. Friday, January, 19th, followed by reception at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Brichman Ave, Fort Worth, Texas. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Born March 13, 1943, in Wichita Kansas, to Howard and Dorothy Mitchell. She graduated from Southeast High School and attended Wichita State University. On September 22, 1962, Sharon married Roger Marr and had two children, Janelle and Eric. They moved to Fort Worth in 1970. Sharon worked for W.S. Lorimer III, M.D. for 12 years as office manager. She was active in her church, loved gardening, entertaining, decorating, cooking and volunteering. She was a member of FW Women’s Club. She volunteered at Historic St. Mary’s Village as a guide (while living in Maryland), Docent for Women’s Club Home Tours, volunteer at Ronald McDonald House and helped publish a cook book while there. She was an Ambassador at DFW, a Table leader at BSF and Women In the Word, hosted Small Groups in her home, a mentor to young women, and in Marriage Mentoring. God blessed Sharon with a wonderful husband of 55 years. She was blessed with two children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and many wonderful friends who encouraged her in life. SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Janelle Thrash (Greg); son, Eric (Tammie); grandchildren, Amber McMillian (Brent); Tyler Marr; Austin Thrash; Rebecca Thrash; great grandchildren, Carson, Avery, and Marlee McMillian; sister, Janet Cook (Martin), mother, Dorothy Mitchell.
