With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger Williams, a man whose warmth and laughter filled the lives of all who knew him. Roger left us peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, just one day shy of his 85th birthday.
Born on March 11, 1940, in the charming town of Clyde, Ohio, Roger lived a life as a testament to dedication, love, and joy. His Buckeye spirit was ignited at Ohio State University, a passion he carried with him throughout his life, cheering on his beloved team every season. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a period of his life he held dear.
Following his military service, Roger embarked on a remarkable career at IBM, where his sharp mind and diligent work ethic made a lasting impact. In his retirement, he served the community of Trophy Club, in various capacities, including the Town Council. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, Roger will be remembered most for the unwavering love he held for his family. He was a devoted husband to Judy, a loving father to Kim, Kate, and Madeleine, and a doting grandfather to Luci, Emily, Audrey, Leo, and Sophie. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Roger’s passions were simple: the quiet tranquility of a fishing rod in hand, the joyful competition of a good game, and the thrilling excitement of watching his Buckeyes play. Throughout his life, Roger enjoyed a great round of golf, his beloved wire fox terrier dogs, and indulging his famous sweet tooth. More than anything, it was Roger’s presence that brightened every room. His booming laugh and voice, coupled with his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, made him the life of any gathering. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his daughters, Kim and husband Bob, Kate and husband David, and Madeleine; and his grandchildren, Luci, Emily, Audrey and husband Allister, Leo, and Sophie and his sister, Sheri. Roger was preceded in death by his loving parents, Gerald and Betty Williams, his dear siblings, Nancy, Larry, and Brian, and his great-grandson, Bentley. Though he is gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.
