Richard Otis Spivey

Richard Otis Spivey, 81 of Grand Prairie, TX passed away early Wednesday morning at Arlington Memorial Hospital on 22 May 2019 after an extended illness. He was born Aug 3, 1937 in Dallas, TX to Otis Oliver Spivey and Addie Louise Burnett. He was preceded in death by his only sister Sheila Kay Ross and 2 sons Rickey Otis Spivey and Danny Wayne Spivey.

Richard worked at Dallas Auto Auction for 25 years; had his own paint and body shop and was employed at LTV and General Motors for several years before working at Greyhound where he retired in 2002 after 10 years.

He is survived by his 3 children, Sherry Kay Pollock and husband Scott; Kenneth Lee Spivey and wife Amy; Shannon Renee’ Nichols and husband Bryan; wife Kitty Spivey of 20 years and her 3 children Becky Morgan and husband David; Cheryl Wages; Patrick Shanklin and wife Carol Ann; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 8th at 11am at Indian Hills Baptist Church 814 Tamara Lane, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
