Dick Morgan was born in Shreve, Ohio to Luis Morgan and Eileen Schafer. He joined the United States Navy at the age of seventeen after his graduation from Shreve High School. Upon his honorable discharge he attended the Ohio State University where he became a member of the Ohio State University football team as a walk-on. After graduation from OSU, Dick taught and coached seventh and eighth grade in Ohio before entering the field of sales. Dick was the retired President of REM- Air Components, a company he founded in Dallas, Texas in 1981. He was a member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas since 1993. He was active in Men’s organizations and Bible Studies, taught seventh and eighth grade Sunday School for several years and was a member of the Empty Nesters Sunday School Class. His retirement gave him plenty of time to spend with family and friends and sailing on his boat, the aptly named “Spirit”, inspired by his love for the Lord. Sailing was a part of his heart and soul.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Morgan and Eileen Schafer Morgan Mayers, his brothers John Paul Morgan (Pat) and William Thomas (Tom) Morgan (Janet). He is survived by his wife Linda, son Jason (Shannon) and grandchildren, Harper, Calvin and Townes Morgan and his sister Treva Morgan Phelps (Jerry), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
