Patsy Ruth Stoermer

Pat (as she preferred to be called) grew up in Palo Pinto County, Texas. It was there that she met and married Bill Kitchens, and they had three children. She traveled from coast to coast, supporting Bill in his careers in the USAF and Daniel Construction Company. The two were married for 30 years.

After Bill's passing she moved back home, to Texas and settled in Tarrant County with Freddie Stoermer, III. Pat and Fred made their home in Bedford for 37 years.

Pat held various jobs throughout her life, but her favorite job was working at the Bedford (TX) Library.

In 2020, Pat had a very debilitating stroke which caused her to be wheelchair bound. In 2021, she moved to a community in Lake Highlands. Because of her fiercely independent nature and tenacious spirit, Pat was considered to be inspirational by members of her community.

During her lifetime, Pat enjoyed gardening, fishing, birdwatching, reading biographies, playing golf, bridge and dominoes. She made friends easily. Her true joy was being around family and watching them blossom and grow.

In addition to her parents, Katie Mae and P. B. (Red) Choate, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thaxton Kitchens; second husband, Freddie Stoermer lll; one sister, Bettye Choate Boone; one brother, Curtis Choate.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses Michael Kitchens; Pamelia Kitchens Payne and Bruce Payne; and Georgia Kitchens Rayna and Jonathan Rayna. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sean, Crystal, Kylie, Leigh, Cody and Chelsea; eleven great grandchildren, and many other family members.
