Pat Ashburn, 84 of Fort Worth, Texas died at home on May 12, 2019. Pat was born at home near Centerville, Kansas to Vernon and Mary (Ramsay) Walker as the youngest of seven children. She attended one room schools in Linn County and Anderson County, Kansas, both in walking distance.
Following her graduation from Kincaid KS High School she worked in the Anderson County Registrar of Deeds office until her marriage to Kenneth Gail Ashburn of Garnett, Kansas. Since he was in the military they lived several different places in the US and finally settled in Benbrook, Texas.
Long known for her sense of humor Pat enjoyed reading, visiting with friends, drinking coffee and making people laugh. Since the grandchildren lived in the area, Pat and Ken felt very fortunate they could attend most of the grandchildren’s activities as they were growing up.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Ashburn. She leaves her daughters Paula Ashburn, Kathy Welch and Nancy Posey as well as her beloved grandchildren Trey and Briana Welch, Tyler, Tanner and Heather Posey and her soon to be born first great grandchild.
No funeral services or viewings will be scheduled but a memorial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living, 5417 Altamesa Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76123. In the future her ashes will be interred with her husband at Laurel Land Cemetery. You may celebrate Pat’s life by donating to Benbrook United Methodist Church if you choose.
