Odie Wayland Kelly

Odie was born on August 22, 1943 to Foy and Octavia Kelly in Altus, Oklahoma.

In 1964, Odie met Mary Katherine (Kathi) McBride at Eastern Arizona College. They fell in love and got married on December 19th, 1964. Odie and Kathi went on to build a home of faith and love for the Lord with their 8 children.

Odie’s commitment to his family was unwavering. His love for his children and grandchildren was a constant, gentle force that shaped their lives in countless ways. He was their rock, their inspiration, and their eternal supporter.

Odie was a beacon to those around him, illuminating the path with his wisdom and humor. Whether you knew him as a loving father, a dependable friend, or a wise mentor, you could always count on Odie for guidance, a cheerful word, or a gentle smile.

He was man of many talents. His passion for music was contagious. He loved to play his guitar and to sing with his wife and their children. Together they sang for many talent shows, church meetings and just for the love of it.

In his professional life, Odie was respected by his colleagues. His integrity and diligence were not just words but principles he lived by. People knew that if Odie was involved, things would be done right and with care.

Odie’s life was a testament of kindness, love and his ability to be a peacemaker among those he served. He was a spiritual giant and a beloved follower of Jesus Christ.

Odie was preceded in death by his parents Foy and Octavia Kelly and 2 daughters Kristen L. Kelly and Robyn A. Kelly. He is survived by his wife Mary Katherine McBride Kelly, daughter Anne J. Kelly Isom (John Isom) Erin K. Kelly Walker (Reed Walker), Caryn A. Kelly McKinney (Emmett E. McKinney Jr.) Steven Kelly (Jenaca Coombs Kelly) Azlynne Kelly Hoard (Rayshon Hoard) and Katy Kelly, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His sister Alice Waunetta Kelly Wilson and her son Aaron Wilson (Kim Hosey Wilson) and 1 great nephew.

A private service will be held in Weatherford Texas on Saturday Jan 11, 2025 at 1pm.
