Nell lived a full and wonderful life. All her acquaintances, friends and family would agree; she was full of laughter, spunk, spitfire, and adventure. Nell was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved all her family dearly. She was born on July 1929, in El Paso, Texas, to Charles Alfred and Martha Nell Skidmore. The family moved to Longview, Texas where she grew up and graduated from Longview High School in 1946. She kicked up her heels as a Rangerette at Kilgore College. After marrying her first husband, L.N. “Bro” Crim, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. She later married Tom N. Becker, wherein they blended their two families. She was a full time mom and spent her time raising their large family of children. Nell was active at Colonial Country Club and served for a time as President of the Guild for the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Nell was an avid Bridge player and worked daily newspaper crossword puzzles over morning coffee. She was a great cook and had a green thumb and could revive any houseplant given to her. Nell was able to travel to many places over her life time with family and friends. She especially loved day trips with friends in the Spring to view Texas Bluebonnets.
Nell will be missed and lovingly remembered by her five children, Liggett (Marcia) Crim, Alfred Crim, Nila (David) Kaftal, Robert (Tammi) Becker, Thomas (LaVonda) Becker, 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Nell’s life will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Temple Hall United Methodist Church, 5601 Temple Hall Highway, Granbury, Texas. Reception to follow in the Fellowship hall.
