Nathaniel was born on July 3, 1926, in Douglas, North Dakota. He attended Sherwood High School where he met the love of his life, Donna Louise Spaulding. They were married on November 2, 1947 and had 5 children. Nathaniel and Donna moved many times before settling in Woodlawn, Maryland. After many years, they returned to North Dakota for much of their retirement and most recently moved to Texas to be closer to their family.
Nathaniel served in the United States Navy during WW2 and the Korean War. He was a former Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of North Dakota and maintained an active membership. Nathaniel enjoyed music and loved to sing. He was a member of a barbershop quartet. He sang at most of his children’s and grandchildren’s weddings.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Donna Louise his four children Bruce (Deborah) in Tacoma, WA, Kathleen in Euless, TX, Howard (Jean) in North Richland Hills, TX, James (Stephanie) Bel Air, Md., 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son John.
A memorial service will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, July 21st at 2pm.
