Michael LeRoy Sullivan of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on April 2nd 2023 at the age of 84. He was born on September 12, 1938 in Port Townsend, WA. He grew up in logging camps and played all kinds of sports as a young man. At the age of nineteen, he enlisted in the Marine Corp.
After an honorable discharge from the Marines, Mike began a life dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served as pastor for many congregations for over forty years, ministering all over California, Texas, and Tennessee. He looked forward to nothing more than spending eternity with his Lord and Savior and spent every day trying to take as many souls with him as he could. Over the years, he ministered to everyone, including prisoners and the homeless, and was a kind, fun-loving and humble man who lived every day with true joy in his heart. Even as he battled cancer and later dementia his positive outlook and happy anticipation of heaven never left him. He continued to share the free gift of salvation through Jesus with any patient, nurse, doctor, caretaker, or assisted living resident nearby.
Prior to his failing health, Mike enjoyed staying fit and was a lifelong avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly football and basketball, and officiated high school and junior high basketball for a period of time. He was a loving Papa Mike to his grandchildren and left an exceptional legacy of faith, service, and selflessness.
He was preceded in death by parents Orilie and Edith Sullivan and his beloved infant son, Bryan Michael Sullivan.
He is survived by sons, Doyle Sullivan, Craig Sullivan, Kelly Sullivan (Mary Claire). Grandchildren Cierra Gutierrez (Nathan), Zachary Sullivan (Camille), Sydney Sullivan, Reagan Sullivan and Stone Sullivan and one great-grandchild.
