Born September 12, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Michael Theodore Buhl and Lenore Donaldson Buhl, Ted spent the majority of his youth in Kirkwood, MO, and was a 1965 graduate of Culver-Stockton College in Missouri. After serving in the Army, including a stint in helicopter mail delivery in Viet Nam, Ted’s extremely extroverted nature led him to a career in sales, first with Corn Products Corporation. He hit his stride with Jockey Sportswear, becoming one of the nation’s celebrated sales leaders. After retirement, Ted continued working in sales for Best Exteriors, and kept in touch with family and friends across the country.
Ted married Pamela Leavitt of Dallas, and together they had three sons, living in Abilene, TX and Little Rock, AR. Ted later lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. with his second wife, Suzanne, and then in Cary, NC before moving to the DFW area.
Ted is survived by three sons, Michael Theodore Buhl III of Ft. Worth, Chad Buhl of Ft. Worth, Jonathan “Jay” Buhl (wife Elia) of Mansfield; brother John Buhl (wife Dalene) of Dallas; grandchildren Nick and Josh Lindsey, and Katalyna and Ailee Buhl, all of the DFW Metroplex, and nephews John “Robbie” Buhl , Jr. of Shreveport, LA, and Taylor Buhl of Paso Robles, CA.
A military ceremony with honors is scheduled for 11am, Monday, February 4, 2019 at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
