Margie Wylie of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the age of 91 years and 11 months. She was born on March 7, 1933 in Muenster, Texas to Bill and Annie Kathman. She attended schools in Muenster Texas where she met and married the love of her life Stan in 1951.
Margie’s work life was dedicated to the raising of their five children. After the youngest entered the first grade she started working at the parish rectory for Immaculate Conception Church and Catholic School in Grand Prairie, Texas. By her family’s side at every milestone and memory she left her mark on so many lucky people in this world.
When Stan retired in 1987, they traveled with RVs and motorcycles all across the United States and Canada. Margie collected “toothpick holders” from their travels but we all knew they were shot glasses. After a few years it came time for a permanent address so they settled in Lake Palestine. In 2002 they retired from the RV life relocating to Fort Worth and eventually North Richland Hills.
Using her hands was her hobby. Her passion for sewing, crocheting and baking was lifelong. She was very active with the Senior Citizens Craft Fair and would always sell out of her fresh baked goods and doll clothes. Her crocheted quilts, t-shirt quilts and quilts made from remnants of previously sewn clothes are cherished memories for those who have them. If you were gathering for a meal, you knew there would be fresh baked bread and if you were lucky, you were sent home with a loaf. When technology came along, she had the fastest “Facebook liking” fingers around. She loved getting pictures and videos thru text, Facebook and her beloved Frameo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Stan, sons George, Bill, and John; and her sister Georgia Anne.
She is survived by her son Jim Wylie and daughter Jeanette Bradley; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Trail Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion they showed her in her final days. A special thank you to her neighbors Lisa Carder and Tim Workman for always keeping a watchful eye over her.
We would love for you to join us as we celebrate her life by attending her Memorial Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, TX on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Internment at Good Shepherd Columbarium will immediately follow Mass.
