Mack is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Adams, sons Paul Wesley Adams (Rebecca) and Philip Charles Adams (Lynn), and five grandchildren: Christopher Paul Adams, Amy Rebecca Adams, Luke Anthony Adams, Lauren Labelle Adams, and John Logan Adams. He is also survived by his sister Betty Gay (Norman) of Marietta, GA. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ware (Tom) of Phoenix, AZ.
Mack was born November 4, 1926, in Jasper, FL to Alfred Thomas Adams and Clio Smith Adams. He was raised in Miami, FL where he graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1944. He entered the Navy in 1944 where he served as a radio operator in the Pacific during World War II. Following his Naval service, he attended the University of Mississippi from which he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1949. He worked for Southern Bell and later Bell South/AT&T in Miami, Jacksonville, and Atlanta, retiring in 1987. Mack served in the Naval Reserve following active duty for 20 years. During his retirement, Mack became an accomplished watercolor artist. He enjoyed painting Florida landscapes and depictions of his family.
Mack was a devoted follower of Christ who gave selflessly to his wife and family. He will be remembered as an enthusiastic Scoutmaster, Indian Guide, Miami Christian School Board Member, and Grandfather who always sought the best for his two sons. Mack leaves an exemplary example for his sons and grandchildren. Although he was reserved and soft-spoken, his words were filled with kindness and insight. He will be greatly missed.
