It was during her senior year of high school she met Ronnie Moore. They grew very close and enjoyed many great times and married on June 20, 1963. The following years were filled with lots of fun and parties during Ron’s college years. After college, they moved to Albuquerque, NM and had a daughter Holly Kay and later in Lubbock, TX a son Steven Matthew. Lubbock was their home for five wonderful years and then Ron was assigned to El Paso, TX. In 1974 Lynda and Ron returned to Lubbock, TX where they raised their children and enjoyed many years of super great neighbors and lifetime friends.
Lynda, always eager to learn, went to Nursing School at Lubbock Christian University and graduated top of her class as an LVN but quickly discovered this was not her calling after a bad catheter encounter (another story).
Lynda continued her studies and graduated from Texas Tech University with a BS degree in education and later earned a MS in counseling from Texas Woman’s University. She taught in the Hurst-Euless- Bedford (HEB) school system for 5 years and was a guidance counselor at L.D. Bell High School for many years. Following her husband’s career, Lynda moved to Albuquerque, NM. She had a two-year tour as a middle school counselor in the North Valley. What a great experience, gangs, gang signing, bullet holes in her office windows, Margaritas on Friday. It was a “Hoot!”. Ron was reassigned to Fort Worth and Lynda returned to L.D. Bell and worked there until her retirement in 2008. Lynda was so full of life, personality and fun until physical problems overtook her life, mostly Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Lynda and Ron were both pretty much free spirits in their younger days and traveled throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, and numerous trips all over Europe.
Lynda was greeted in Heaven by her parents, DC (Babe) Harris and Ophelia Harris and her daughter Holly Kay Waters, and son Steven Matthew Moore. Remaining here to treasure her memories are her husband, Ronald Moore, brother Phil Harris and wife Sharon, sister Debbie Keeler and husband Tommy, very special grandchildren, Mallory and Natalee Waters and numerous other relatives and good friends.
