

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Richard Craig Scott; her brother Glen (Jerry) Gerred; her stepbrother Bill Beckley; and sister-in-law, Brenda Beckley.
Linda earned a master's degree in Special Education and taught in Raymore-Peculiar, Missouri, and Miami Lakes, Florida. After moving to Rossmoor, California, she worked from home for the Underground Wine Newsletter and enjoyed playing tennis. While living in Marietta, Georgia, she was a stay-at-home wife. Later in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, she worked for American Airlines, beginning in the lost baggage department and later in Flight Attendant Recruitment, retiring after September 11, 2001.
Linda married Richard Craig Scott (1943-2020) in Kansas City. Following Richard's military training in Fort Eustis Virginia, they lived in Germany and later moved throughout the United States before settling in Texas in 1988. After Richard's retirement, they operated a Shorthorn cattle ranch in Jewett, Texas, where they enjoyed working with junior exhibitors. Linda served on the boards of the Texas Shorthorn Association and the Texas Lassie Shorthorn Association.
After retiring from ranching, Linda and Richard returned to Hurst, Texas; where they remained active in Shorthorn organizations and enjoyed attending the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and the Texas State Fair. Linda also volunteered as a foster for Passport for Paws Rescue and spent many days playing bridge with friends at the Hurst Senior Center. She and Richard shared a love of travel and documented their journeys in numerous photo albums.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Erika Scott of Hurst, Texas; her sisters, Glenda Watts of Kansas, Mona Chaw (Gary) of California, and Alice Gowler (Randy) of Kansas; her step brother, Clark Beckley of Missouri; her sister-in-law Julie Beckley of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was laid to rest beside her husband on November 12, 2025 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
