Lin Edward Thomas

Lin Edward Thomas was born Saturday, July 21, 1955 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Lawrence Edward (Pat) Thomas and Roberta Bailey. His parents, grandparents, two sisters (Beverly Jo Ware & Patricia Ann Crawley) and three brothers (Ronnie Gene Williams, Vernon B. Thomas & Bobbie Lee Thomas) preceded him in death.

Lin professed an early faith in Jesus Christ and attended Galilee Baptist church in St. Louis, MO with his family. He graduated from Scullin Elementary School and Northwest High School. He served briefly in the Army and received a General Discharge. He then worked for Allen Foods, Inc, as an “over the road” truck driver…like his dad. Many evenings you could find them practicing driving, turning, backing up, and parking in the family room. His siblings had to move out the way fast or risk being “run over.” As expected, he “aced” getting his CDL license.

He married early but was divorced within a year. No children were born to this union. The “cousins” hung out together (Lin, Waymon, and Charles), If you knew where one was, you knew where the other two were. Close to retirement, he relocated to Dallas, TX and joined the Munger Place Church. He thrived there making many friends (Rev. Andrew Forrest, Rev. Sean McDonald & Cary Walker) and serving his church communities faithfully until he no longer could.

Lin leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Ivory Lee Thomas TX (Martha), Charles Anthony Thomas MO (Debra); one sister Gennette Wicker MO (Carlton), nieces Lena Nicole Thomas, Angel C. Howlett (Jimmy), Cherissa M. Wicker CA, Jennifer Crawley MO; Martha Corrine Thomas TX; nephews Christopher M. Wicker CA (Kimberly), Ivory Lawrence Thomas Jr TX (Mona), Vernon B.Thomas MO, great niece Chastity Crawley MO, relatives Lera Weaver (Clifton) CA, Karen Clark (CA), Clifton Weaver Jr, CA, Jason Clark CA, Richard Clark, MO and a large host of other relatives and friends in Missouri, Texas & California.

A memorial service will be held at Munger Place Church Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m.
