Joyce Carole Hawker passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, just two weeks before her 90th birthday. Joyce was born in Albion, NY to Howard and Adele Maxon. She was the first of four daughters. She grew up on a dairy farm in Upstate NY where she met her husband, Walt, in middle school. They married in 1956.
She attended SUNY at Fredonia and graduated with a teaching/music degree, but would teach for only a short time so she could concentrate on her family. Joyce was devoted to her church, and she loved her family, friends, bridge, travelling and golf. She had two holes in one!
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Walt Hawker, and her sister, Shirlee Hebblethwaite. She leaves behind two sisters, Beverly Utter and Susan Roach; three daughters, Laurie (Tom) Trigg, Lisa (Randy) Feldman and Linda Wilson; five grandchildren, Scott Restina, Abby Feldman, Becky Fehrm, Ben Trigg and Jacob Wilson along with six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives.
