loved ones, on December 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Joseph was born on January 24, 1952, in Barberton, Ohio, to Robert and Della Straley. He
graduated from Norton High School in Norton, Ohio, and later pursued a career as a Licensed
Journeyman Plumber in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex after obtaining his plumbing license in
Austin, Texas.
In his final days, Joseph cherished time spent with family, passing on his love for sports. He
especially enjoyed watching Cleveland Indians baseball, Ohio State football, and Cleveland
Browns football.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Della Straley, and his sisters, Debbie
and Linda.
He is survived by his spouse, Cindy; his children, Michael (wife Sunshine), Michelle (partner
Chris), Joseph, and Wyatt (wife Carmen); and his beloved grandchildren: Joey, Desiree, Emily,
Mikey, Jacob, Mia, Gabriella, Benjamin, Camilla, and Nikolai. He is also survived by his sister,
Donna, and brothers, Bill, Kenny, and Jake.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Universal Hospice and the JPS Cancer Center for
their compassionate care during Joseph’s final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Debbie
Reynolds Event Center at the Benbrook Par 3 in Benbrook, Texas. Visitation with the family will
follow the service, with refreshments provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Joseph’s honor to the JPS Foundation.
