After a long, fulfilling life, Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 88. Joseph Lincoln Harvey was born on December 30, 1928 in Sedalia, MO to Orville Perry Harvey and Margaret L Holmes Harvey. A smart, smart man, Joe was a born mechanic and engineer who could fix just about anything except the Alzheimer's that developed late in his life. Joe was an instructor in the Air Force stationed in Wichita Falls when he married Marilyn Hull in 1951. Shortly after the wedding he was transferred to England which created an opportunity to travel in Europe. Following his discharge he and Marilyn lived in California. While there Joe wa bitten by the racing bug and ran his Austin Healey Sprite in sports car races all over California. He was very active as a Boy Scout leader in his son's troop, hiking, fishing, camping and developing life-long friendships. Business relocated the family to Mississippi where they lived until Hurricane Katrina roared through their house in Gautier, Mississippi in the fall of 2005. While in Mississippi, Joe lead a very full life where he was an amateur radio operator, belonged to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Power Squadron. He loved boating and traveling. Joe and Marilyn fulfilled a life-long dream by living aboard their boat for a year while cruising the East Coast and the Bahamas. He and Marilyn finally settled in Keene where Joe served on the city's Planning and Zoning Commission. Over the years Joe has touched many lives and his family is so grateful for the excellent, loving care he has received, especially since January as his health declined. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marilyn; daughter, Linda Jones (David); daughter-in-law, Janet, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
