John Paul Kovach

John Paul Kovach, age 79, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, January 26th, 2025. John was born on October 30th, 1945, to parents John and Mary Kovach.

John married Jo-Ann Schnorenberg in 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. They lived in several states before ultimately ending up in Euless, Texas in 1976, where they had since made their home.

Professionally, John was an engineer who worked at Del Norte and then Sokkia until his retirement. John was an avid lifelong learner and was regularly involved in the amateur radio community.

John is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann Kovach (nee Schnorenberg), his brother, Thomas Kovach, and his sons, Martin (Irina) Kovach, and Nicholas (Maria) Kovach. He is further survived by two grandsons and two granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Kovach (nee Kurtik) as well as daughter Gwendolyn Kovach.

Funeral Mass for John will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church (3713 Harwood Rd, Bedford, TX) with a reception at the church following. Interment will follow at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX) at 1:15 p.m. for those who wish to join the family.
