

John Gene Farr was born October 11, 1947 in San Francisco, CA and passed February 13, 2022 in Ft. Worth, TX. He was a resident of North Richland Hills, TX.
After graduating from Columbia River High School in Vancouver, WA, John served honorably in the U.S. Navy. After discharge he worked briefly for Layrite Concrete Products before starting at Northern Pacific Railroad (predecessor of BNSF) in 1969 in Seattle, WA. For the first month he was a messenger/janitor, until he was assigned a permanent job. There were several relocations with the railroad, St. Paul, MN, Fort Worth, TX, Pittsburgh, PA and finally back to Ft Worth. While working full time, John attended Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, TX. Thirty eight years later he retired in 2007.
In 1968, while stationed in San Diego, CA John met and married Kathy, together they have two sons, Eric and Michael, whom he loved with all his heart. They were married over 53 years.
John’s hobbies included camping, stamp and coin collecting, and traveling. His favorite beaches are in Hawaii. He also loved to cruise, including Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and the beautiful Caribbean.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathleen M. Farr, sons Eric J. (Christie) Farr and Michael S. (Molly) Farr and his wonderful, precious grandchildren, Dylan (Megan), Gabby, Mathew, Evie J., Megan, Mark and Cody and his favorite sister whom he cherished, Cindy Ann Barrett. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding in death are his parents Adelbert Avery and Betty Jane Farr, two brothers Gene Simon Farr and Adelbert Avery Farr II.
Internment will be at DFW National Cemetery
