John Peter Farley Arlington - John Peter Farley of Arlington, passed away August 9, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Funeral Mass - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27th at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Arlington. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 in the church atrium. Memorials: Should friends desire, gifts in John's name may be made to Mission Arlington. John was born on February 2, 1945 to James and Emily Farley in Philadelphia. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1963. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and was in combat in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. John attended Temple University and worked on an Economics degree until he was recruited by Fidelity Bank where he worked for 16 years. He then worked in the 3rd party administration of pharmaceutical industry with several companies retiring in 2010. John was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Mary, Queen of Peace Assembly. On October 7th 1967, John married his soul mate, Kathleen "Kathy" Williams. John and Kate had many adventures during their marriage including the move from Philadelphia to Arlington on January 1st 1983. John and his faithful sidekick, Rocky the corgi, made many friends at Gibbons Park. During his illnesses, he didn't look forward to going many places with the exception of the park and being with his friends and seeing the other dogs. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital who cared so graciously for John during his stays; in particular the staff on Oncology and Hospice. Survivors: Wife of 49 years Kathy; daughters Cynthia Bierbrauer (Dwain), Kathleen Scholtyssek (Dieter) and son Gavin Farley (Holly); grand-daughters Abigail, Allison and Audrey; brothers Father Bernard Farley, James Farley and sister Catherine Gallagher; and a host of dear family and friends all over the United States.
