JoAnn Orr

Jo Ann Prince Orr passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 after a brief stay in the hospital. She was born August 28, 1931 in Waco, Texas to Ottis Otto Prince and Mary Quinnie Hardeman Prince. Her family moved to Fort Worth when Jo Ann was a young girl. She worked in hospitals most of her life doing everything from switchboard operator, to Central Supply clerk, to nurse’s aide, to performing EKGs and private duty nursing after she retired. Jo Ann truly had a servant heart and “nursed” everyone!

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; William (Bill) Blackburn and Roy Orr, her brother; Eugene H. Prince and wife Idalene; nephew; Larry Prince and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by sons; Ronny Blackburn and wife Beth, Marvin Blackburn and step-son, Ronnie Orr and wife Deena; daughter, Ruthie Blackburn Phillips and husband John; granddaughters, Kati Blackburn Mayhew and husband Jeremy of Southgate, MI and Kara Phillips Marais and husband, Charl of Lusaka, Zambia and her great-grandchildren; Madison, Trinity, and Mason Mayhew of Southgate, MI; nephew Lynn Prince and wife, Teena and niece, Sandra Prince wife of nephew, Larry; cousins Forrest Moorehead and wife Cleatus of Nashville, TN and Cynthia Cawley of Bedford, Texas.

Our mom was the strength of our family growing up and always put us first. She loved us “more than we will ever know”. Rest in peace, Mom. We love you and will miss you.
