Jewel Louise Russell

Jewel passed away May 20th, 2017 in the loving care of her daughter Kay accompanied by the caring and compassionate staff of Heartland Hospice. Jewel was born on April 17th, 1922 in Amory, Mississippi. She was the last survivor of 9 children. She lived a long joyful life and during her last couple of years as her health declined she was surrounded by many loved ones, friends, caretakers and family who loved her and cared for her. She passed away with her same sweet smile that she was known for. She is survived by her daughters Jewel Ann Smith of Ocala, Florida and Kay Kunkleman of Bedford, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Jewel died peacefully and comfortable as the caring and wonderful staff of CNA’s and Nurses at Heartland of Bedford, cared for her along her journey to heaven.

She will be always known for being a hard worker, her kind nature, loving spirit, a fantastic mother, and her fun sense of humor. Her celebration of life is pending.
