Jerry Lee Evans age 78 a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend joined with our Lord Jesus Christ in his heavenly home on Friday October 27, 2017. Memorial service is at 10:00am on Saturday November 25, 2017 at Hurst Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 745 Brown Trail, Hurst, Texas 76053. Jerry was born on April 21, 1939 to Tommy and Reva Evans in Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1958 and he won several 1st place certificates on the wrestling team. He was in the National Guard for 2 years and he attended 2 years of College at Amarillo College. He married Sandra Tidwell on March 1, 1969 and stepped into the role as father for her 3 kids. He worked as a draftsman at Pantex, TXI and Petro Chemical. Later he went to work for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s department and retired in April 2003. He loved to draw and paint. He also loved to bowl and was on several bowling leagues thru the years. The last league he was on was the Senior League at Hurst AMF Bowling Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Carl, a brother James and his wife Sandra. He is survived by his 4 children Sharon Owens and husband Rob, Tammy Trimble, James Evans, Lee Evans and wife Felicia. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jason Mullins and wife Lana, Samantha Olivas and husband Daniel, Clint Stoker, Destiny, Trinity and Hope. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren Elizabeth, Micah, Bailey, Jayla and Sierra. Also he is survived by siblings Charlie Evans and wife Cheryl of Amarillo, Ann Hayes and husband Daryl of Providence, KY, Carol Keyes and husband Robert of Amarillo, Krista Larson and husband Jim of Benton, AR Carla Evans of Amarillo, Jackie Cordell of Amarillo, Ann Murray, sister-n-law Laquita Evans of Amarillo, sister-n-law Phyllis Tidwell of Oklahoma City, OK, step-mother Phyllis Evans of Amarillo and several nieces and nephews.
