Fort Worth: Jerrell Glenn Shaw, 81 passed away at his home on Sunday December 17th. A Memorial service will be held at Sagamore Baptist Church in East Fort Worth at 11 a.m. on Friday December 22nd. Jerrell was born December 7th, 1936 in Royse City, Texas to Herman Leslie Shaw and Lizzy Viola Shaw. He married Theresa Kay Beasley on December 27th, 1959. Jerrell and Kay lived in Fort Knox Kentucky while Jerrell served in the United States Army. After he was honorably discharged they returned to Denton where Jerrell completed his degree at the University of North Texas. Jerrell went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture in Canyon, Texas before returning to Fort Worth and working in the regional office of the USDA. Jerrell retired at a young age to build a successful Amway marketing business. Jerrell was an All-State football player in high school and went on to a football scholarship at UNT. Jerrell and Kay have been long-time members of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church and previously Meadowbrook Methodist Church "Papa" was a loving grandfather not only to his own grandchildren but to many of his extended family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his daughters Lucretia Scarth and husband Danny, Leslie Phillips and husband Chris, grandchildren Payton Scarth and wife Kim, Chip Phillips and wife Sophie, Haddon Scarth, Caroline Phillips and great grandson Elliott Scarth. Also, sisters Juanel Canup of Princeton and Judy Knight and husband David of Whitewright. Jerrell was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Wendell, Rodney and Mickey Shaw.
