Jeanne Kay Tranter Elliott, 72, formerly of Manhattan, Kansas joined Jesus to sing and dance with the angels on His birthday, December 25, 2017 at her home in Mansfield, Texas. Jeanne was born in Manhattan to Clifford and Jo Tranter. A graduate of Manhattan High School Class of 1963 she was very active in theatre and Job’s Daughters (a Masonic sponsored youth organization for girls). She met and married Charles Paph of Wichita, KS in 1962 while he attended Kansas State University and was blessed with two children. Later, she married Jerry Elliott, formerly of Manhattan.
She enjoyed dancing, singing, theatre, theatrical makeup, jewelry crafting, knitting, crocheting, reading, playing a bodhran drum, and renaissance and Scottish festivals that included many years at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield, KS. She loved collecting dragons, miniature bottles, and jewelry. She always wanted to travel and had that opportunity while living in Germany for 2 years and visited other European countries while there. Jeanne enjoyed developing social media friendships through Puzzles With Friends. In recent years, she enjoyed many activities and friendships at her home in the Magnolia Heights Retirement Community that included Peacock Divas, morning coffee, and Mexican Train.
Jeanne worked in a variety of office jobs at McCall Pattern Company and at the Fort Riley Army Base before retiring in 2006.
Jeanne is survived by son, Michael Paph of Manhattan, KS and his wife Sonya; daughter, Tina Brown of Mansfield, TX and her husband Kevin; grandsons, Steven Paph of Syracuse, NY and Eric Brown of Mansfield, TX; granddaughter, Hillary Brown of Mansfield, TX; brother, Jerry Tranter of New Orleans, LA; and sister, Jolene Scofield of Punta Gorta, FL.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A special thank you to her numerous neighbors of Magnolia Heights for providing her with great friendships these last years for a girl from Kansas and to the staff of New Hope Hospice for providing a peaceful environment in her final days on Earth.
Memorial services will be held at Magnolia Heights Retirement Community on Saturday, December 30, 2017 and in her hometown of Manhattan, KS at a date yet to be determined.
