Jay...I took this pic for you because I know you'd love it. We miss you SO much it's unreal. It's been hard...really hard for me. Crash loves & misses you too. We had our show and your presence was greatly missed. I cried for days - and still do. I miss you buddy. Love you with all my heart. 


Wow...where to begin...  Jay was a gentle and caring soul and I was very lucky to work with and learn from him.  Some of my favorite memories: flying with him, attending firefighting school in Paris, Tx, working so many shifts together.  It is impossible to calculate the number of people Jay protected - crimes they didn't experience because he was always there and taught others how to be there.  God got a good one this time. Vaya Con Dios, my friend.

There's so much to say about Jay (Marlboro Man) that it is hard to condense it all to a few words. He was an such a grounded, wise, and a joy to be around man. He was a teacher to those who lended an ear, a prankster, and a caring person. He, Ray, Hoyt and O'glee were my guardians while I worked at Flags. Jay was the first. He respected my time needed for my faith and was so open to talking about anything and everything. We joked around, pranked one another and other people together as well. He believed in me and helped me achieve my dreams. I hope to see Ray, Jay, and Bill having a good time and maybe then Jay, I'll play Orange Blosssom for you on my fiddle, quote Monty Python, and look like the Flying Nun again. Rest in Peace Jay. You'll be missed dearly.

Jay was the absolute best.  He always greeted me with a smile at the park. I’m going to really miss his friendship. Rest easy my dear friend. I know I will see you again. Prayers 🕊️

My thoughts,  prayers and deepest condolences to  Jay's family. Jay was a gentle soul and was a great man to work alongside. A man of few words, but a great presence. He will be missed, but it's not goodbye, just see you later. Rest in Paradise Jay. 

Such a gentle giant. He was our leader, our mentor and our friend. His signature overalls his favorite clothing. And always a listening ear when we needed to vent. His compassion limitless and all encompassing. Forever in our hearts.  We love you Jay and will miss you.

I have been fortunate to know Jay all his life.  He, his mom and dad, and Janice are very dear to my family.
Playing all kinds of games together growing up and riding his mini bike are some of the best memories.  
When I took my boys to SFOT and left them (at an appropriate age) I always put Jay’s and Hoyt’s  names on a piece of paper to ask for in case they got in trouble.  Luckily they never did but I know they would have been taken care of very well.
It’s very touching to see so many people whose lives were touched by Jay.  I know his family was proud of him.   He will be missed by so many.

Jay, “old guy” as I referred to him with much love and respect, was always a joy to work alongside and under at SFOT. His love for the job and his many stories of times past made our time with him here a blast! He had a special bond with so many, individually, and that is what made him such a special man. It was an honor to know you here Jay. I can’t wait to join you, Bill, and Ray one day so that we can share more stories and have more laughs. You will forever be a part of my life as a man and as a professional. Your memory and life here will forever be remembered, “Old Guy”. 

Jay was one of the other cat people at Six Flags who quietly took care of the strays and found homes for several of them. We often talked about the new kittens we had found and if it was time to call the cat lady to come and get them.

Jay was one of the many "adoptive grandpas" that I gained from working at SFOT. I loved sitting with him in his office while we talked about the most random things or showing me pictures of his golden retriever puppies. Jay was an amazing person to have gotten the chance to know and I am going to miss him so terribly much.  I believe that he's sitting up there with Bill Willman and Ray enjoying a good conversation. 

My favorite memories are coffee on the security porch with Jay during the off season. Later he would drive me around in the SFOT Security truck helping with odd jobs around the park when I was bored. Always talking about his cats, and always a quiet and peaceful person to spend time with.
