He had one sister, Virginia, who was a steadying voice and influence for his entire life and he adored her. Jimmy was honored to serve in the Navy for six years during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Navy, he worked in the Defense industry which led to him and his family living in the Philippines and Puerto Rico which was a tremendous experience for the young family, especially his daughter, Lisa. Upon returning to the United States, Jimmy received his associate’s degree from Tarrant County Junior College and his bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan College.
