James Allen Collins

JIm was born to Faye and Effie Collins and grew up in Morton, TX, where he graduated from Morton High School with the Class of 1964. He went on to attend Texas Tech University, carrying with him a strong work ethic and pride in his Texas roots throughout his life.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Faye and Effie Collins; sister, Lois Avery; brother-in-law, Don Avery; and brother-in-law, David Jackson.

He is survived by his devoted former wife, Pat Collins; sons, Jason Collins and Bryan James Collins; and daughter, Chelsea Collins. He is also survived by his sister, Patsy Faye Collins; nephews Bobby and Jimmy Avery; niece Donna Avery Wheeler; nephews Mike, Jon and Greg Jackson; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A memorial service honoring Jim’s life will be held at Legacy Church of Christ, located at 8801 Mid Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills, Texas on February 21st at 2pm.
