Jim was born Aug 17, 1938 to R.B. and Myrtle Beasley where they had a large farm that raised all kinds of produce, animals and veggies. Jim was raised with hard work, a strong Christian faith and a loving family of 6 kids. When at Cleburne High School he was very active in the FFA and in 1955 won the National Title for judging Chickens, then went on to earn the top degree of Future Farmer.
After college he worked in the oil fields then at South Western Bell Telephone and AT&T for 25 years before retiring in 1989.
Jim’s passion was horses and in 1980 started the Beasley Thoroughbred Race Horse Farm then moved to Wise County in 1987 to grow and expand the farm operation. His uncanny ability with young horses showed as they flourished and went off to the race track. He raised the foal Sir FitzWillie who won the very first pari-mutuel race in Texas in 1994. Jim had a multitude of horses over his life that won and did well and he loved them all. For every animal that ever needed help or a home he was the first to jump up and say “Let’s see what we can do.”
He is survived by his wife Beverly Beasley, nephews David Anderson, Stewart Anderson and Nathan Anderson, Adam Patrey, Wayne Hoover, Kyle Hoover, Chris Hoover, his nieces Nancy Patrey, Laura Patrey, Jan Hoover, sister-in-law Jean Pace, brother in law John Pace and so many beloved friends.
