Frances Mae Grant August 18, 1942 to June 21, 2018
Frances May Grant (Church), age 75, died peacefully on June 21, 2018 with her husband, daughter, son, and the loving staff of Brookdale Holiday Lane Estates in attendance. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Grant and three children Daniel Grant, Bernard (Donna) Grant, and Lilly (Erik) Monson. Frances was blessed with five grandchildren Remington, Drake (children of Bernard and Donna) and Victoria, Matthew, and Luke (children of Lilly and Erik). She was born in San Antonio and traveled extensively after marriage with Charles. Frances loved reading and writing stories, especially science fiction or mystery stories involving cats. She was a self taught artist that enjoyed bold colors, coloring books, and drawing.
The following quote sums up Frances’ love of color and light:
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
From the colorful clothing she loved to wear to the flower in her hair, Frances believed color brought light into your day and into your life.
Frances is now chasing the beloved cats that preceded her, helping paint the sunsets, and waiting patiently on the rest of us.
A small memorial service is planned for the weekend of July 14th in the Dallas area. More details will be communicated by the family soon.
Charlie and Frances were avid “cat people” who adopted their pets. In lieu of flowers, please kindly consider a donation in Frances’s name to the Humane Society of North Texas https://hsnt.org/donate/, as a way of honoring this love of animals. Charles Grant would be happy to receive messages below, cards, or phone calls. Cards can be addressed to
