From Elementary through high school she attended and graduated from Camden Fairview schools and then attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas where she met the love of her life. She was united in holy matrimony to Charles Nolen Brown Sr. on Jun. 9, 1957. They were blessed with four children and were married for 38 years. Nolen preceded her in death on June 19,1995.
The couple began their married life living for a short time in Blackwell, Oklahoma followed by a few years in Kilgore, Texas and then found a haven in San Antonio, Texas. Flossy spent 20 years as a housewife and mother, then spent the next 20 years as an office manager for Basil Taylor, Attorney at Law. In 1998 she moved back to Camden, Arkansas to care for her elderly mother. In 2004 she returned to Kingwood, Texas where she lived until 2014 when she moved to Southlake, Texas to live with her youngest son.
During the early years in San Antonio Flossy was involved in PTA, Girl Scouts, and The San Antonio Conservation Society; in her later years she became a Master Gardener in the state of Arkansas. Her greatest pleasures were found in spending time with family & friends, playing games, reading, & gardening. “She was the sort of friend you just went to and entered the house without knocking, the sort of friend that you could pour out your heart and innermost feelings knowing that there was understanding, reflection, and good old common sense advice with no judgments. She listened well and patiently, had kind generous thoughts, and cared for others. She has left this legacy to her family and friends. “ Betty
